 |  | Terra Alpina was built in 1820 as a classic Italian farmhouse. We bought it in September 2006 and started rebuilding it in mid 2007. Having replaced almost everything except a couple of exterior walls, the building was completed in November 2008. The whole project was done to the highest standards: for example, every ceiling was removed and completely replaced with new beams. Even the ground floor was lowered by one metre to provide modern ceiling heights. We were careful to use local materials and craftspeople as we want to be part of the local community and keep the authentic nature of the building. The overall style is sympathetic to Alpine tradition, but is also clean and modern. |
